Networking Notes

When connecting to the InoDrive for configuration and program download, you can use either of the two ports on the module to connect by ethernet cable to your programming device (PC, Laptop, Tablet, etc.). Your ethernet adapter should be set to auto obtain, then the InoDrive and your Laptop will be in the same network. Once you have the ethernet cable connected, then connect power and turn your demo case on. This way your network adapter will auto obtain the needed information from your InoDrive Module, and their connection is complete.

The InoDrive automatically obtains an IP address from a DHCP server (commonly your router) which makes it easy to connect your InoDrive Module to the local network. Instead of manually entering the IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway, these are automatically assigned by the DHCP server when the InoDrive is powered on after being connected by ethernet to your device (PC, Tablet, etc.).
If your system only supports IPv4 then be sure your PC is in the same network as the module or your network adapter is set to auto obtain as mentioned above. If your system is in fact IPv6 capable then you may enjoy simplified connection process and more robust connection abilities including not setting your network adapter to auto obtain. IPv6 link local support has been added to the InoDrive, which enhances the connectivity with the module when addressed by serial number.
