Programming Reference / Motion / Configure Axis


The Configure Axis block must be used prior to issuing any motor position commands. This block is required to establish motor positioning units if they are different from default.

Item Description
A Select the Slot for the particular InoDrive whose Axis you want to configure
B Select from one of your user defined Axis Resources
C From the drop down, select the desired positioning units. Please view the Sectors page for more information Rotary Sectors
D Select the Units Override option to set the distance traveled by one revolution of the motor i.e., 4 inches, 3 feet, 28 mm. See the Units Override Option page for more information
E Invert Direction serves to switch the negative and positive directions of the Axis. Helpful when positive numbers are desired in otherwise negative directional commands

Item Description
A Establish a home input for the motor to be able to refer to with the Home block
B Select which input is at the positive end of your axis’ boundary. View more info on the End Switch
C Select which input is at the negative end of your axis’ boundary. View more info on the End Switch
D Select Additional Gearing to establish further gear reduction than what is included in your motor
