Introduction to InoWorx / Trouble Shooting / Mac Network Bridge
Connecting InoDrive Module to macOS through Network Bridge and Ethernet Adapter
When establishing or checking this connection the Network tab on your macOS is your starting point. The path is: Launchpad/Apple Menu > System Settings > Network
Now proceed to connect a new or correct an existing connection
I do not currently have an interface with my ethernet cables set up – establish a new one
- Arrive at Network page in System Settings
- Click “…˅” button with more options
- Click Manage Virtual Interfaces…
- Click the plus button on the bottom left
- Click New Bridge
- Select the listed interface that you want to connect to (common names for ethernet cable connections through the adapter are en05, en06). Select only one interface
- Click Create
- See if the new interface has a green, red, or orange circle underneath the name. If green, connections work!
My existing network interface has a red or orange circle underneath the name
- Arrive at Network page in System Settings
- Ensure InoDrive Module is connected to Ethernet cable and power cable
- Click “Details…” button
- Select TCP/IP tab on left panel
- Inspect IPv4 settings
- Check the self-assigned IP address and ensure the Module and Interface are in the same subnet mask class, adjust if necessary
- If still orange, troubleshooting may need to occur further. It may be helpful to check the IP address of the module with WireShark, the InoDriveApi discovery functionality, check the desktop application’s discover functionality if applicable to you, check the InoWorx Watch Window, or finally – reach out for assistance
